Herb
camp for big girls! Do
you love the plants and want to learn more about their healing powers?
Spend a weekend journeying with the plants, feasting on wild edibles,
and making plant medicine. We also will track moose and other creatures
who share the land with us, learn how to make rope out of plant fibers,
and craft coal burned spoons. There will be plenty of good food and
time
to relax by the fire or dip in the creek. You will leave nourished and
in
love with life.
We will camp on
the land Friday
evening - Sunday afternoon in the mountains
near Boulder, Colorado
$250 (Early

Meals and group camping equipment are included.
Winter Thriving March
17-20, 2012 - Spring Equinox
Feel at ease in winter! This gentle
introduction to winter camping will show you how much fun you can have
in the snow. We will travel by skis or snowshoes a modest distance to a
winter haven. There you will learn how to build two kinds of winter
shelters, weather and avalanche forecasting, and the joys of winter
tracking. There will be plenty of good food and
camaraderie around the fire. And together we will set our intentions
for the next season with an equinox celebration.
The trip takes
place Saturday
morning - Tuesday afternoon in the mountains
of the Front Range

program changed my life. It

door within me to a path that
was waiting to be journeyed. - Dyami Nason-Regan.
Apprenticeship
This is a
unique opportunity to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to
design and lead effective nature-based programs for girls. Students
will gain an in-depth understanding of the latest research on girls'
development, including the value if single-sex educational environments
in the pre- and early adolescent years; best practices in outdoor
programs for girls; the importance influence of nature on children's
development; and keys to creating meaningful contemporary rites of
passage. Theoretical knowledge will be coupled with developing
proficiency in nature-based mentoring techniques, Earth-living
(survival) skills, naturalist curriculum, non-violent communication and
conflict resolution, herbal self-care and first aid, and the outdoor
leaderships skills necessary to work safely with groups "wild"
environments.
As part of their training, apprentices will create and
lead their own 16 hour nature-based program for girls, while receiving
guidance and support from their mentors and peers.
